The band - reborn

Our first original song in more than 10 years, “You And I” was one of those desk drawer ideas from when we thought we’d follow up Break From This World fairly quickly with another album. Dann was inspired by a composition “Day Is At Hand”, written primarily by John Samuel Hanson for the Immediate Music catalogue, and wrote moving and personal lyrics anchored to a new vocal melody.

I never forgot that sketch Dann sent me back in 2012, and when I rebooted Globus’ album project in earnest in 2021, this was one of the first songs that benefitted from us gearing back into full production mode. Dann recorded new vocals, drums, bass and guitars from his studio in the UK, and I added backing vocals, piano, guitars, additional drums, programming and new orchestral arrangements.

I enjoyed mixing the track, taking my time (of course!)….Happy enough with the results to make this our first single off the new album!
